Processes
Powder coating is an advanced method of applying an aesthetic and
protective finish to a wide range of products. It is a 'dry' finishing
process, using finely ground electrostatically charged particles
of pigment and resin which are sprayed onto electrostatically grounded
parts. The powder adheres to the parts and are held in place until
they are processed through a high temperature curing oven (between
150 and 200 degrees C) to form a smooth, durable high quality finish.
A selection of Polyester, Epoxy and hybrid materials, in a variety of colours and gloss levels, offers protection against corrosion and weathering, while meeting a range of specification levels including Class 'A' visual standards.
Pre-treatment is necessary if the powder coating is exposed to humidity, the presence of chemical or for outdoor applications.
High quality and flexibility are the main feature of our facilities. In our number one plant superb finish is consistently achieved by applying zinc phosphate which gives excellent corrosion resistance on steel, zinc and zinc castings. The inline process controls virtually eliminates contamination resulting in high quality finished components. Our number two plant is dedicated to the high level of protection required for aluminium components by applying a pre-treatment conversion coating which gives excellent corrosion resistance on aluminium steel and zinc castings. Consistency is maintained by the inline process controls for powder coating the components, thus ensuring salt spray resistance in excess of 480 hours. Our plants are flexible by being capable of processing small and large components in volume. We have the capability to apply aluminium protection systems enabling rapid response to customers requirements.
